I decided to try acupuncture after seeing multiple specialists for migraines, joint pain, and night terrors.  Becky listened to my concerns for my health and treated me for each issue. After treatment, I was able to walk for miles without pain, sleep at night without medication and my migraines decreased significantly.  I felt so encouraged to have my body restored.  Becky took the time to understand the multiple facets of my health, so that she can provide the best treatment possible.  She changed my life!

Addiction and Mood Stabilization

Becky's acupuncture and cupping treatments started me on a path to feeling good about my body again. I started acupuncture treatments as I was always moody and tired at a time when I was beginning my attempts to figure out my drug and alcohol addiction. Neurological issues, Parkinson's

I have been getting acupuncture treatments for over 40 years now. I have a congenitally malformed heart, which affects a lot of things - my gallbladder/liver and migraines being the main areas of concern. Becky was recommended to me by a friend who described her as “smart as a whip, caring and thorough”. I have been to other acupuncturists and would get “the usual” treatment, which consisted of several needle points for the gallbladder channel, liver, and often spleen. I would feel better for a day or two, but nothing would last. Then I got fortunate enough to meet Becky, and she literally changed my life!  All treatments had positive results (not one was negative) that would last more than 48  hours, and Becky has such a sparkling personality that you can’t help but feel comfortable during the session.

Becky’s specialty leans towards neurological issues, so I did not hesitate at all to refer a good friend who has Parkinson’s Disease. My friend noticed improvements immediately after sessions with Becky, too.

What surprised me the most about Becky is her impressive educational background. She is a scientist to the core, and the area of acupuncture is a good fit for her. Her desire to help people plus using her incredibly smart brain are a winning combination for any patient she sees.

Plantar Fasciitis

I have had plantar fasciitis for two years. The pain under my feet was so bad that all types of walking was painful if I had been sitting down for more the 15 minutes. I was walking like an 80 year old, not able to roll the soles of my feet. When Becky started treatment, it only took a few treatments before I noticed a difference. I could now do longer walks without feeling pain under my feet. Becky is very good at asking the right questions to find the actual problem areas. After a total of 5 treatments, I suddenly noticed I was getting up after sitting still and I had no pain. It was like a miracle! I can now workout like I used to, for as long as I wanted, without any pain. 

Becky is very knowledgeable. What I love about Becky is that she will always explain to you why she is doing what she is doing. Becky is very pleasant, and I always felt very comfortable.

What surprised me the most is how few treatments were necessary to get better. I cannot recommend her services enough!

Treatment for Allergies

Texas allergies are something I thought you just had to live with, but after Becky helped me with a mixture of herbs my post-nasal drip stopped, my throat clearing stopped, and I felt so much better!  Can't recommend her enough!

Neurology: Spinal Fusion, Neuropathy

I met Becky Upchurch after moving to Austin in Jan 2021.  Before moving, I had gone to an acupuncturist pretty much on a weekly basis, mostly for aches and tight muscles and for overall wellbeing. Becky has a welcoming, warm, personality and she talked me through what she wanted to do for my first visit (my treatment plan).  We talked about different past surgeries I had had. One was a spinal fusion cervical 5 to 7.  After that surgery, I developed a neuropathy in my left leg leaving my foot numb.  I had no feeling in my leg at all and could feel nothing that my foot or toes touched on my left side. I left that first visit with Becky feeling relaxed and excited that something might help my neuropathy.  My previous acupuncturist never mentioned that treatment to restore the feeling in my leg could be possible. 

Becky began an intensive treatment with me, once a week, that included acupuncture needling and electric stimulation. After just the first week, I started to have feeling return to my leg and foot. At first, I felt some “pins and needles”, which Becky assured me was my left leg returning to sensation again. This quickly turned into real sensation in my entire leg, and each week, after treatment, I developed even more feeling. By the 6^th treatment, I had complete, normal sensation throughout my leg and foot. I remember standing bare foot in my home with my daughter there with me, and I said, "I can feel the texture of floor on my foot. I can feel the carpet fibers under my toes." I had never expected to ever feel anything with that left foot again. Not only that, I had totally given up on any kind of treatment being able to give me sensation in my left leg again. If I had not seen Becky for my neuropathy, I would have believed that “normal” for me, was to never feel my left leg, foot, or toes again. Thanks to Becky, I have complete neurological restoration of feeling in my left leg that I never thought was possible!

Pregnancy Aches and Pains

I went to Becky during my pregnancy for acupuncture and she was a godsend. She really helped me with all the aches and pains of pregnancy. The stress she helped alleviate was huge and she helped prepare my body for a natural childbirth.
